Architecture: ALU, registers, program counters etc. Hardware: System bus structure, data, address and control bus. Microprocessor interfacing. Types of microprocessors, 4 bit, 8 bit and 16 bit. Families (Intel, Motorola and Zilog). Assembler language programming; development aid, application development. Application of microprocessor in PLC.
