Introduction to Corporate governance: Company formation and capitalization; capital gearing. Organizational structure. The growth or expansion of businesses: Types of, and motives for, capitalistic combination including mergers and acquisitions of corporate entities. Mine taxation. Time and motion studies for job planning. Introduction to project management. Conventional scheduling using critical-path-method, precedence and arrow networks, Gantt charts, and time-cost trade-off. Topics in organizational theory: motivation, and job satisfaction, pay systems and incentive schemes, organizational structure and labour relations. Management of contract agreements.
