The course focuses on the human life cycle in relation to ageing and the ageing process. It helps students develop relevant social work skills in handling and dealing with older people. The course analyses the challenges facing older people in Ghana and Africa and focuses on the need to prepare for old age. It examines elderly persons‘ needs, available resources and opportunities for assisting the elderly obtain services.
