Arabia in the 6th century (Jahiliyyah) a study of literary work in the Jahiliyyah period, concept of revelation, divine origins of the Qur‘an, development of the Qur‘an, (revelation, preservation, compilation and standardization). Composition of the Qur‘an, (i.e. Makkan, Madinan, Hizb, Juz, Manzil), Tafsir or Exegesis and types, a study of selected Suwar of the Qur‘an, relevance of the Qur‘an to Muslims, the Qur‘an and Orientalists.
