UGBS 205 — Fundamentals of Accounting Methods

This is a foundation course and it is designed to equip candidates with the basic knowledge and tools that will enable them appreciate business transactions, their analysis and the primary financial statements and reports that are produced from such transactions. The course is also designed to equip candidates who have interests in accounting as a career with the requisite foundation to build on. Topics will include: The Nature and Function of Accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Fundamentals of Accounting Method, Analysis of Transactions in Books of Account, Control Accounts, Bank Reconciliation and Balancing of Accounts and Trial Balance.
