General relation between signals and pole location, inversion of Z transforms. Discrete transfer function, discrete compensaters, discrete PID control, people placement and deadbeat control. Design in the z and w domains. Polynomial design. Analog approximation. Analysis of computational delays. Realization of digital controllers. Finite word-length effects.
