FREN 367 — French Language Registers

Student’s attention will be drawn to the different registers and the circumstances under which they can be used. An in-depth coverage will be given to familiar and popular or street French both in France and in francophone West Africa. This should enable students to better understand recommended texts in which such registers are used, so that they will avoid mixing registers. Class activities include transposition of texts from one register to the other.
