The aim of this course is to initiate students into the theory and practice of foreign teaching with special reference to French. The course will center around: The different Theories and Methodologies of Language teaching, with emphasis on grammar-translation method, direct method, audio-oral method, audio-visual method and the communicative method, the various phases of the language class, classroom techniques and activities, types and role of teaching/learning materials (T.L.M) and modes and types of assessment.
