SOWK 437 — Organisational Planning in Social Work Practice

This course examines the definitions and nature of community organisation. It focuses on theories of organisational development, programme planning and resource development. It also examines the theoretical base, as well as factors that influence organisational growth and change. The role of social workers (including advocacy roles) in organizational and community change are discussed. The course assists students to appreciate types of organisations and the importance of an organisation‘s vision, mission and objectives.
