DANS 324 — Costume and Make- Up for Dance

This course deals with basic survey of history of costume and make-up from the Egyptian era to the present. It further looks at principles of design, nature of fabric, the construction process and the final construction of costume specific for the dancing body. Emphasis will be on the interplay of light on the fabric to enhance the visual means of communication through dance. The course is a pre-requisite for students majoring in costume design and construction at level 400.
