Objective This course continues the course in financial mathematics started in the first semester. At the end of the course the student will understand the relationships between the various discounting methods and be able to carry out simple operations involving them. Contents Annuities – Explanation, Types, Present Value, Future Value, term and Interest Rate; Mortgages – Explanation, amount of a mortgage, Mortgage Instalments, Return on capital; Discounted Cash Flow Techniques – Explanation, Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) Approaches.
