The main aim of this course is to promote the utilisation of appropriate information and communication technologies to enhance business of government and delivery of public service to customers. Topics to be treated include the concept of e-government; new public management eadministration, the role of ICT in public service in developing countries; issues in adoption and implementation of e-government projects; political and socio-cultural issues in e-government; legal framework of e-governance; ICT as a tool and technique for modernising public administration; challenges of e-governance implementation; and the implication of e-governance for public administration and governance in developing countries.
