ADLT 308 — Working with People in their Communities

The course is to introduce students to issues affecting communities and their well being. They will develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to work effectively in a variety of community settings to help identify and solve problems. They will also develop community entry and variety of participatory techniques and guidelines for developing community profiles; explore stages in the development of community groups and group activities; social planning and effective leadership in relation to communities and their organization. Issues related to project transition and termination will also form part of the course.
