Objective The course introduces the student to housing, a sector of the real estate industry, and a crucial factor in the country’s socio-economy. The student is expected to appreciate the present state of the housing sector in the country and the mobilisation of resources for improving the sector within the context of a good hosing policy. Contents Functioning and role of housing in economic development; Performance of the housing sector in Ghana- Housing policy; effect of policy interventions on housing quality, access and affordability; Housing finance; Systems for housing finance, finance mechanisms for individuals and firms – Techniques for savings mobilization and lending; Support facilities; Management.
