Objective This course focuses on the real estate development process. At the end of this segment the student is expected to know the stages in real estate development and the normal sequence of activities which characterise most real estate projects. Contents Real estate development- the process and the players; The development process; Stages - Idea conception, idea refinement, feasibility, contract negotiations, commitment point, construction, initiation of operations, asset management over time; Procurement Methods; Risk Management; Quality Control; Insurance; Arbitration; Construction Management: The Client- individual, Corporate, public; The consultant- Architect, Engineers etc; Quality Assurance; Project Coordination & Evaluation-Network Analysis.
