AGEX 102 — Development Communication and Extension Methods

The course aims at exposing students to the concept of communication and extension teaching methods such that they will acquire the knowledge and skills to apply appropriate communication and extension teaching methods for identified clients with specific extension messages. Communication defined: the communication process, Approaches to effective communication, Importance of communication in development work. Individual communication methods: farm and home visits, Group communication methods, Mass Communication Methods. Classification of extension methods: analysis and comparison of different extension methods, Extension teaching methods and the innovation diffusion process, Selection of extension teaching methods.
