AGEX 104 — Education and Training for Development Works

This course is designed to provide students with adequate knowledge about the concept of education and training and the relevance of education and training to agricultural development. The concepts of education and training, main differences; distinguishing characteristics of training courses. Induction training, in-service training; The nature and characteristics of formal agricultural education and training in Ghana; Agricultural education in the general education system in Ghana – basic schools, senior high schools and tertiary education; Curriculum design in Agricultural Education – training needs assessment, the selection of aims, goals objectives. Practical session: Students will visit some of the MOFA districts, and some NGOs to interact with their staff and clients to determine the training needs of MOFA/NGO staff, and the technical and managerial skills requirement of their members and their current levels of skills.
