The objectives of this course are to expose students to the concept of extension approaches and the relevance of these approaches to extension delivery. The concept of extension approaches and the conditions that necessitate the adoption of specific extension approaches, Differences between extension approaches and extension methods. Approaches to agricultural extension delivery-the general agricultural extension approach, Training and visit approach, farming systems research approach, Cost sharing / cost recovery approach, Commodity specific approach, Farmer Field Schools, Convergence of Sciences and Innovation systems approaches: Evolution of extension approaches in Ghana (including the current state and future of extension services in Ghana).
