The course aims at exposing students to the theoretical foundations in the establishment, development and management of FBOs. At the end of the course students will acquire the competencies to help communities establish, manage and grow their own FBOs. Theoretical basis of evolution of FBOs, Classification of FBOs, Core functions of FBOs, Establishment, growth and management of FBOs, Policy issues concerning establishment and development of FBOs, The role of development agencies in promoting FBOs, Issues relating to participation in FBO activities, Understanding stakeholder responsibilities in FBOs development, The role of FBOs in agricultural and rural development.
