MTEN 305 — Mechanical Behavior Of Materials
Materials Science and Engineering · University of Ghana
(Prerequisite: FAEN 205) This course presents the study of the deformation of solids under stress; emphasizes the role of imperfections, state of stress, temperature and strain rate. Description of stress, strain, strain rate and elastic properties of materials. The fundamental aspects of crystal plasticity will also be considered, along with the methods for strengthening crystals at low temperatures. Deformation at elevated temperatures and deformation maps will also be covered. Finally, emphasis will be put on the relationship between microscopic mechanisms and macroscopic behavior of materials.
